Follow Up Homework Questions
- What were some things you thought about the trail west, that these readings and pictures have changed?
- Choose a trail west and then write a journal entry; what you would do, what you would eat, ect.
- Make a travel brochure of what type of things you would see on the trail.
- Were the Indians more harmful or helpful?
- Make a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner- what are foods you always eat? What do you absolutely need?
- Who were some famous people from this time- what did they do?
- What is one thing you think would be great about going out west? What would be horrible?
- Draw a map of the main trails.
- Would you make friends with the Indians? Or just trade with them? Or avoid them at all costs?
- After all you have read and seen- would you go out west? Why or why not.
